
Cathy and Dave Potkins have operated Figure 11 Consulting Inc. since it was incorporated in 2008. Cathy specializes in chronic disease management and Dave is a mechanical and systems engineer. We live, work and play in Nelson, BC, Canada, traditional territories of the Sinixt, the Syilx, and the Ktunaxa peoples.

She has a degree in Exercise Physiology (UBC 1994) and a Masters in Cardiac Physiology (U of R 1998) - specializing in rehabilitation of patients with pacemakers and congestive heart failure.
Cathy coordinated the Peace Arch Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation program and the iConnect Center for 12 years, gaining expertise working with patients with diabetes and heart disease. She has been an examiner for the American College of Sports Medicine and provided numerous talks on lifestyle and behaviour change.
Currently, Cathy is a private consultant in Nelson BC working with Interior Health's Primary Care Network providing education on chronic disease and exercise, providing patient services for private insurance companies, and running specialized exercise classes.
She has been a health care consultant with Figure 11 Consulting since 1998.
Dave has worked as a mechanical, biomedical and systems engineer since 1996. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (UBC 1993) and Biomedical Engineering (U of S 1996).
Dave worked at Xillix/Novadaq (now Stryker medical) as an opto-mechanical engineer and team lead for ten years, designing fluorescence imaging technology for the early detection of cancer and for the visualization of blood flow in vessels during and after surgical procedures.
Following a move to Nelson, BC, in 1998, Dave partnered with the co-owners of D-Pace Inc. and held the position of Chief Technology Officer until 2024. D-Pace supplies products to the international commercial particle accelerator industry, including beamline systems, beam diagnostic devices, and ion sources for research, industrial, and commercial accelerator systems.
Currently, Dave is working with D-Pace and other organizations, as time permits between snow days and sunny paddling days.
